Assignment
sale of debt, transfer of debt
A transfer of a debt or related rights to another party. It matters because it can affect collection and data sharing.
CBSL register
licensed list, registered institutions list
Public lists of licensed or registered financial institutions published by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Site status labels describe the register check only.
Collection agency
collector, recovery agent
A third party used to recover repayments. Standard recovery and harassment or public shaming are treated separately.
Confidence label
confirmed, reported, alleged
A label showing whether a fact is confirmed from primary material, reported by credible sources, or alleged and not established.
CRIB
Credit Information Bureau
Sri Lanka's Credit Information Bureau. Whether an app lender can report a borrower to CRIB must be checked against the source and legal pathway.
Data and app permissions
contacts, SMS, location
Access requested by an app or contract. Contacts, SMS, photos, and location are usually not necessary for a legitimate personal-loan assessment.
Licensed finance company
LFC
An entity appearing on CBSL's licensed finance company list. Absence from the checked list is a register finding, not a legal conclusion of illegality.
Right of reply
company response
A standing place for a company to respond to its profile. It supports accuracy and the site's fair-reviewer posture.
Rollover / extension
extension fee
Extending the due date or applying the fee again for another term. It can make the real cost rise very quickly.
Service fee
loan service fee, processing fee
A charge added separately from interest. A loan can advertise 0% interest while the real cost sits in the service fee.
